Job Overview

We are looking for an SEO content writer to join our vibrant and growing Content Team within our wider SEO department.

Salary and Location

Salary: Up to 31,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Altrincham WA15 8AB, Hybrid work after training period

Day-to-day responsibilities

You’ll have your own portfolio of clients to work on — generally a mix of B2C, B2B and SaaS websites — though you’ll be able to choose the industries and niches you prefer or that align with your personal strengths and interests (where possible). As we are a specialist SME agency, these clients can vary in size. From small everyday companies to large operations that turnover millions in profit every year. All of them have their own different products, goals, and ambitions. So there’s plenty of variety to work with here.

Please note: our hybrid/working-from-home options are available to colleagues upon successful completion of the initial training period and are subject to ongoing performance.

Typical tasks include

  • Writing persuasive direct-response commercial copy incl. service pages, home pages and product-category pages.
  • Developing out blog topic clusters and blog posts designed to convert.
  • Keyword research & competitor research.
  • Planning, pitching and implementing your own content strategies.
  • Interviewing your clients over Google Meets for insights into their business.
  • Copyresearching & copyediting.
  • Leveraging AI such as Gemini or ChatGPT to streamline your workflow.
  • Working alongside the Account Managers who will be the main point-of-contact for your clients.

Required skills

  • Experience writing persuasive commercial copy (as noted above).
  • Some knowledge of SEO.
  • Some knowledge of prompt engineering.
  • Experience publishing & uploading content to websites.
  • Some experience working with CMS, such as WordPress & Shopify.
  • A passion for writing.

Desired skills & experience for a Senior-level SEO content writer

  • Demonstrable knowledge of technical SEO & how this can affect a website’s visibility — especially when it comes to ecommerce websites
  • Experience producing long-term content strategies for clients that deliver results.
  • Proven, demonstrable knowledge of content attribution.
  • Practical knowledge of topic clusters & best internal linking practices.
  • Evidence of implementing copywriting theory and best practices.
  • Evidence of continually learning about SEO and the wider industry.
  • Experience with Ahrefs, Semrush or other keyword research tools.
  • Comfortable working with Google Suite & Google Drive.
