We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead cloud-native software engineering team responsible for building and operating a modern Azure-based platform and on premise solutions in the Rail sector.

The role combines people leadership, technical direction, and strategic ownership, with a strong focus on Kubernetes, C#/.

NET, and shaping the adoption of AI-driven capabilities across our products and services.

You will play a key role in defining the future technical roadmap, ensuring our platform remains scalable, secure, and ready to leverage emerging technologies, including AI and intelligent automation.

Team Leadership: Lead a professional development team focussed on delivering engineering excellence through the promotion of existing and emerging methods.

Technical Leadership: Provide direction for cloud and on-premise solutions, proficient in the use of containerised environments.

Follows best in class practice for architecture, security, compliance and overall system resilience.

Provides direction for the effective use of CI/CD, infrastructure management and Dev Ops practices

Demonstrates a strong balance between efficient delivery of new feature development with platform stability, scalability and long term maintainability

Contributes to the strategic direction of the platform development through engagement with internal and external stakeholders aligned with the strategic direction of ADComms.

Manages the evaluation of emerging technologies and patterns to ensure the platform remains leading edge and competitive.

Lead in the continued evolution of the use of AI and ML capabilities with ensure responsible and secure adoption of these methods.

Identify where AI can provide opportunities to improve customer experience, operational efficiency and acceleration of developer lead activities.
