Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Assurance Engineer will be involved with the handover of assurance information to enable ADC to meet its contractual requirements. The assurance system is independent of projects; therefore, the purpose of this position is to support the projects and review the project handover documentation without being directly involved with the project. This is to ensure they are compliant with design, legislative industry, and organisational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing assurance through the life cycle stages aiming to achieve incremental acceptance with the client.
  • Assist with the assurance of works issued for Sub-Contract.
  • Assist with project handover documentation to project completion.
  • Complete allocated works in accordance with program timescales.
  • Monitor progress of works, advising the Assurance Manager at agreed periodicities, and agreeing alterations to programs of work or working patterns as required.
  • Assurance of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP's) as a checker, reviewer, or approver.
  • Work closely with Sub-Contractors and the ADComms Construction team to deliver ITP's efficiently.
  • Completion of ITP's to be submitted for Acceptance to the client.
  • Updating Project Assurance documentation to track progress.

Education Requirements

  • Previous experience of working with London Underground or Network Rail is essential.
  • Wide range of engineering disciplines, but focus on communications with related civils and electrical within a railway environment.
  • Quality and/or Assurance background.
  • Experience in undertaking Audits/Inspections.
  • Experience handing over projects to the client through the life cycle.
  • Experience of reviewing designs, ITP's, and scoping documentation for construction activities.
  • At least 5 years' experience in rail projects, holding an assurance role.
  • Computer literate and experienced with Microsoft software.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate with the engineering teams and to the wider team.
