The Principal Specialist is responsible through ADC, to conduct drilling rig equipment condition audits in accordance with ISO 19011 Guidelines for Management System Audits. In the act of doing this the Principal Specialist is to provide the Client with a valid assessment and report on the availability, reliability and fit-for-purpose of all mechanical equipment and systems relating to the control of rig power, drilling, hoisting, marine and safety critical (excluding BOP) equipment. Further, may be required to provide specialist advice, operational support or training material to clients upon request. The Principal Specialist will be required to work worldwide but will be administratively based from ADC Head Office in Aberdeen. Time spent away will be project dependant with a target maximum period of 28 days at a time.

Qualifications

  • Degree level education or equivalent in related field.
  • 20 years’ experience in relevant field.
  • Chief Engineer level or equivalent.
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of power, drilling, hoisting and marine systems.
  • Background in test and evaluation of complex systems.
  • Team player, capable of liaising with operational, technical and professional personnel from Company, Client and Governmental organisations.
