The Environmental Projects Business Partner is key to driving key environmental programs and enabling implementation of strategic initiatives. Operating in partnership with national leaders, you will be key in delivering critical support to the business for all facets of environmental opportunity to continue striving for sustainable futures.

This role is located in Birkenhead, South Australia, with travel required across SA, NT and the eastern states.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners and regulators to identify and deliver improvements to environmental programs and plans.
  • Identify, coordinate and support strategic environmental projects, including approval pathways and implementation across sites.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to internal stakeholders on environmental risk management, compliance, data and reporting requirements.
  • Enable the timely delivery of improvement initiatives by clearly defining requirements, communicating change and supporting site implementation.
  • Lead environmental performance reporting, audits and incident investigations, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance outcomes.
What you will need to succeed
  • Extensive experience in environmental management within heavy industry, waste, quarrying or a regulated industrial environment.
  • Proven experience delivering an environmental function at a senior or strategic level, including regulatory engagement and approvals.
  • Demonstrated success managing License to Operate and Social license matters.
  • Strong capability in developing, implementing and auditing management systems standards, procedures and tools.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline (formal investigation certification desirable).
  • Knowledge of GIS platform and environmental data storage.
