About the Company A leading regional Construction Contractor who specialise in Mechanical, Electrical and Small Works construction projects up to the value of £3m, are looking for an Operations Director to lead a team. This role will manage Team leads that look after Construction, Mechanical, Electrical and Maintenance Services on behalf of clients including Schools, Universities, Hospitals, and other blue chip organisations across the North West. Based in Merseyside, this business have decades of successful and reputable trading behind them, and have a fantastic reputation for successful delivery with their ongoing client base. This is a secure well structured business already performing and delivering, however the role offers autonomy and scope to shape a team, and the process and procedures used to deliver their construction goals. Work is won through open tender, as well as through various frameworks and repeat negotiated works. About the Role As Operations Director you will lead and oversee operational activities across all business divisions - Construction, Mechanical, Electrical and Maintenance, with heads of each service reporting into you. The Operations Director will work at board level and work closely with the other Directors to ensure the company meet their growth and sustainability goals. This strategic role will ultimately be to ensure safe and efficient project delivery, resource optimisation, customer satisfaction and commercial targets are met whilst working to company processes and culture. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership * Develop and implement operational strategies that support business objectives and client satisfaction. * Build and mentor high performing teams across the business * Promote a culture of safety, collaboration and continuous improvement Management: * Direct management of all project managers and department heads covering maintenance, mechanical, electrical and construction projects * Oversee and manage all aspects of operations from mobilisation, procurement, delivery, commissioning and handover * Monitor, and where needed implement KPIs to drive performance and accountability. * Setting out workflow targets to ensure completion dates are met. * Ensure all projects and processes comply with health, safety and building regulations * Oversee direct labour resources, subcontractors and supply chain management Finance: * With the support of the Commercial Team, oversee all aspects of the operations department to ensure valuations and invoices for projects are submitted in line with contract and business requirements * Manage operational budgets and forecasts * Drive cost efficiency and profitability across projects * Report project P&Ls at monthly board meetings * Assist in finalising all accounts Customer and Stakeholder Engagement: * Maintain and build strong professional relationships with the client representatives - surveyors, building managers and design teams. * Lead client and internal meetings from pre-contract, progress, monthly updates commissioning to post contract. * Escalation point for clients Management of Resources: * Provide leadership, assistance and technical advice to all Project Managers and Engineers to ensure contractual commitments are met and exceeded. * Mange and maintain master project and contract programme to forecast resource requirements * Lead weekly resource planning meetings with all project managers and department heads About You * Proven experience in operations leadership within building services or construction. * Strong technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and construction disciplines. * Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. * Relevant qualifications in engineering, construction management, or business * Proven track record of developing and implementing new processes to support operational and commercial betterment What\'s on Offer Salary is competitive, and negotiable dependant on experience, plus company car/car allowance.
