About The Company A leading national contractor are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. This company have over £1 billion of secured work in the pipeline, working in recession proof utilities, renewable energy and civil engineering sectors. This is a business with a proven track record for training and promoting junior team members from within. This is a rare opportunity to work on some of the UK's headline power infrastructure projects, and help play a role in the countries shift towards a more sustainable and greener future. About the Role As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work to maintain commercial information associated with various contracts. You will be expected to input and analyse cost and project information, assist in compiling and producing Management Information and Reports. Producing weekly updates to review financial performance and review and process Subcontractor applications. Key Responsibilities include : • Manage and monitor the actual works activities carried out against the pre-determined schedule, the number of items supplied and costs • Monitor the staff, labour and plant hire rates utilised on this contract; compiling monthly reports and managing cost allocation • Organise and track the procurement of Sub-contractors • Be responsible for the preparation and internal Governance Authorisation of Subcontractor Payments • Assist in the placing of subcontract task orders in accordance with the main contract • Attend Operational Subcontractor Meetings; monitoring subcontractors against programme • Assist in the preparation of Client and Subcontract Final Accounts • Ensure the Risk Register and Change Register is kept up to date • Support the monitoring of internal expenditure against Budget/Cost Plans and maximise the efficiency of reporting techniques/systems Experience and Qualifications Requirements for the Role Candidates working towards their degree or those at post grad level are welcome to apply, and those with 1-4 years industry experience are ideal for the position. * HNC/Degree qualified or working towards one of these qualifications * Personable and career driven * Ideally 1-4 years construction industry experience however those without will also be considered Salary and Package Offering * A basic salary between £30-40k is negotiable dependant on experience * HNC/Degree funding * RICS mentor and funding for chartership * Full package details are available on request
