West Park Primary School wishes to appoint a permanent Teaching Assistant and has a vacancy for a suitably experienced, enthusiastic and committed individual in our caring and welcoming school. This position would be to start on 1st September 2026.
We are seeking applicants who are committed to supporting the development of all pupils within an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. The successful candidate will work alongside teachers to deliver planned learning activities and provide high-quality support to ensure every child can succeed. We are particularly keen to hear from individuals who have a passion for supporting children with special educational needs within a mainstream setting, helping them to thrive and reach their full potential as part of an inclusive classroom.
We value staff who are caring, adaptable, and dedicated to putting the needs of pupils first. The role requires a versatile individual who is willing to work across the school, including within the Early Years setting. You will be joining an established, supportive, and committed team of staff who work collaboratively to provide the best possible outcomes for all children.
Applicants will have experience of working as a classroom or teaching assistant within a primary school environment. This could include a successful student placement. Applicants should possess NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. Candidates should be suitably qualified and experienced and be able to meet the criteria detailed on the person specification.
West Park Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As such the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check. This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020).
