Position: Midday Play Leader (Band 3 – Spinal Column Point 3) £3,384.56 per annum. 6 hours per week, term time only (190 days per year). Working schedule 11:50am – 1:00pm each day. Permanent.

Overview: Sunnyside Academy, a large mainstream primary school with support bases for children with Deaf/Hearing impairment, Vision impairment, and moderate learning difficulties, seeks a Midday Play Leader to supervise lunch‑break activities. The role ensures health, safety, welfare, good conduct, and safeguarding of pupils, including those with special or additional needs, and supports the school’s inclusive learning community and OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) programme.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise activities during the lunch break, ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of pupils.
  • Maintain good conduct and uphold safeguarding policies.
  • Support pupils with special or additional needs, including those with hearing, vision, or moderate learning difficulties.
  • Collaborate with the school team and parents as required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children, particularly in inclusive settings.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet the criteria detailed in the person specification, including an enhanced DBS check.

Other Information: The post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020).
