ADAS, part of the RSK Group, is seeking Seasonal Ecologists to join our highly skilled ecology team. These are fixed-term contract positions for six months throughout the busy spring and summer period to start in March / April with the potential to extend into a permanent position for the right candidates.
We are seeking Seasonal Ecologists to be based in the South East England (home based around the West Sussex / Cambridgeshire / East Essex / Kent borders). These roles are full of variety and our Ecology business comprises a highly skilled team focused on providing services to a wide range of clients, particularly developers, utility companies and the renewable energy and rural industries. It’s a great opportunity to start your ecology career, working with experienced ecologists on a variety of surveys and projects. We aim to get each Seasonal Ecologist involved in all aspects of ecological consultancy – from quoting to surveys and the follow on reporting. Support and mentoring will be provided at all stages.
With over 75 years’ experience in the agricultural and environmental sector, ADAS are one of the leading consultancy and research providers in the UK. We work with a wide range of clients, in both the public and private sector to provide sustainable, long term solutions across a range of disciplines.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out a range of ecological surveys (skills dependent) and assist senior colleagues with other surveys to develop skill set
- Carry out desk studies, consultations, research, data management and analysis, and report writing
- Deliver work as efficiently as possible in order to meet agreed timescales and quality standards
- Enthusiastic individual keen to develop an ecology career
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Someone open to flexible working with regard to the type of work, timing and location with night and weekend work as and when required
- Experience with European Protected Species survey work (not essential)
- 37.5 hrs per week
