ADAS is seeking a Ecology Projects Manager at Consultant or Senior grade to join our team based in the South East. The role is permanent, flexible and home working, or can be linked to one of our offices if that is a preference.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of ecology contracts, primarily for electricity supply and maintenance/infrastructure projects in the South and/or East of England.
- Quote and tender production in association with those contracts and other opportunities that the team may wish to pursue.
- Budget management of assigned contracts including working with the finance team for invoicing.
- Attend client meetings.
- Site visits for ecological surveys where required.
- Communicate with clients and provide solid technical advice.
- Work with ecologists to ensure quality projects are delivered on time.
- Write technical reports including preliminary ecological appraisals, ecological impact assessments, mitigation strategies and biodiversity management plans.
- Technical review of reports.
Person Specification
- Relevant experience in a similar role.
- Graduate level education in a relevant subject.
- Project management experience.
- Proven background of contract management.
- Associate Level CIEEM membership or above.
- In‑depth knowledge of ecology, legislation, and survey techniques, including Natural England Licensing.
- Excellent written communication skills and ability to produce accurate technical reports.
- Proactive attitude to managing own time, finding solutions and ensuring work is delivered on time and to the required standards.
- Full driving licence and access to own vehicle.
- One protected species licence (Great Crested Newt, Hazel Dormouse or bats) (desirable).
- Project management qualification (desirable).
