About the Business
Our client, a well-established, specialist flooring company based in Glasgow, is recruiting for a Sales Specialist for maternity cover. The business has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality LVT, wood, carpet, and laminate flooring solutions to residential customers. They are known for their exceptional customer service, expert product knowledge, and hands-on approach. This opportunity will be to cover a high-performing team member, so we are looking for someone who can step in, make an impact, and continue delivering the excellent service their customers expect and are accustomed to. The duration will be for 9 months, and we are looking at flexibility in terms of both full-time and part-time arrangements.
The Role
As a Sales Specialist, you will be the face of the business, guiding customers through their flooring journey from initial enquiry to installation. You will:
- Engage with customers in-store, over the phone, and via email to understand their needs
- Provide expert advice on LVT, wood, carpet, and laminate flooring solutions
- Conduct home visits to measure spaces and provide tailored recommendations
- Manage the full sales process, ensuring a seamless and positive customer experience
- Build strong relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals
- Support with daily store operations, including assisting with deliveries when required
- Work towards and exceed sales targets to maximise performance bonus

What We're Looking For
- Proven sales experience (flooring or home improvement experience is advantageous)
- Knowledge of flooring installation would be beneficial
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport and close sales
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- A hands-on attitude and willingness to support wider store activities
- Full UK driving licence preferred for home visits
