Group Financial Accountant

Are you a proactive and detail-oriented accountant looking for a role where you can make a real impact? Our client, a well-established company in the food production sector, is seeking a Group Financial Accountant to join their finance team and play a pivotal role in supporting strategic financial initiatives across the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely group financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and relevant regulations.
- Manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring all documentation is prepared.
- Compile financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support management in decision-making.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for strategic planning.
- Oversee intercompany accounting and reconciliations to maintain group-wide accuracy.
- Develop and implement financial controls and processes to enhance reporting efficiency.
- Support subsidiary companies with accounting queries and guidance on policies and practices.
- Assist in continuous improvement of accounting systems and processes.
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, UK GAAP, and reporting standards.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, audit management, and financial analysis.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills to work with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the food or FMCG industry is desirable but not essential.
Working Hours
Full-time, Monday to Friday, standard office hours
