We are recruiting an Accounts and Business Advisory Services Associate to join a friendly and supportive accountancy practice team based in Edinburgh. This role is ideally suited to someone at a junior level within an accountancy practice who is looking to build on their existing experience and progress their career in accounts and business advisory services. You'll work closely with experienced colleagues in a collaborative environment where learning, development and teamwork are genuinely encouraged. This will initially be an office-based role and candidates must be based at or able to commute to the Edinburgh office.
As a junior member of the Accounts and Business Advisory team, you will be involved in:
- Assisting with the preparation of annual statutory accounts
- Supporting the production of management accounts
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- General bookkeeping duties for a varied client base
- Working with Xero cloud accounting software and other digital accounting tools
- Supporting senior team members with client accounts and queries
- Maintaining accurate accounting records and working to deadlines
- Developing your technical accounting knowledge within a practice environment
This role offers excellent exposure to a wide range of practice accounting work, with support and guidance provided at every stage.
We are keen to hear from candidates who:
- Are currently working in, or have recent experience within, an accountancy practice
- Are studying towards ACCA
- Have some experience with accounts preparation, bookkeeping, or VAT returns
- Are comfortable using Xero or keen to develop further cloud accounting skills
- Are organised, motivated and keen to learn
