We are working with a well-established business within the manufacturing sector who are looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their team. This is a key role within the business, reporting directly into senior leadership, where you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently, and in line with all regulatory requirements, while also helping to drive a positive and proactive safety culture across the organisation.
The role:
- Ensure the site is fully compliant with Health & Safety legislation
- Act as the go-to for all Health & Safety matters across the site
- Support managers and shop floor teams with guidance, coaching and advice
- Lead on incident investigations, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work closely with senior leadership to reduce risk and drive a proactive safety culture
- Support audits and maintain compliance within internal HSE systems
- Contribute to ongoing operational and change management projects
- Help develop and implement effective processes to prevent reoccurrence of incidents
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within a manufacturing environment
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation
- A confident communicator who can engage and influence at all levels
- Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to take ownership
- Comfortable delivering training and promoting best practice
- Able to balance when to escalate and when to take action independently
