Working on behalf of our client based in Wrexham, we are hiring for a Workshop Manager to start on a permanent basis.

Key Duties

  • Allocate and distribute work to tradesmen in line with fabrication drawings issued by Project Engineers and Planners.
  • Carry out visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, in-process work, and finished products in line with BS EN 1090-2.
  • Manage day-to-day operations within the fabrication workshop, including supervision of staff and involvement in recruitment.
  • Oversee and control engineering processes to meet cost, programme, quality, and manufacturability targets.
  • Approve or reject materials and completed work based on specifications, ensuring any non-conformances are rectified and documented.

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience in a workshop supervisory or foreman role within a fabrication or steelwork environment.
  • Knowledge of BS EN 1090-2 and quality inspection processes.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication drawings and the ability to translate them into shop floor tasks.
  • Experience managing teams, including performance management and mentoring.
