Working on behalf of our client based in the North West, we are looking for an experienced and highly organised Senior Site Manager to lead and oversee full industrial site relocation projects across the UK. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong background in managing complex mechanical, electrical, and structural works related to machinery, equipment, and facility moves.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing teams, subcontractors, health and safety compliance, and client relationships from project initiation through to final commissioning and handover
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of site operations during relocation and installation projects
- Manage all phases of machinery and equipment dismantling, movement, and reinstallation
- Coordinate teams of engineers, movers, subcontractors, and logistics providers
- Ensure all site works are completed safely, on time, and within budget
- Conduct site surveys and produce/approve method statements and risk assessments
- Liaise with clients, project managers, and suppliers to maintain smooth project flow
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, site permits, and safety protocols
- Lead daily briefings and toolbox talks
- Maintain accurate site records, reports, and progress updates
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager, Project Manager, or similar in the industrial or engineering sector
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical installations, lifting operations, and decommissioning
- SMSTS or equivalent site management qualification
- Experience working under CDM regulations
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK with occasional overnight stays
- Ability to manage multiple teams and workstreams under tight deadlines.
