Working on behalf of our client, we are recruiting for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join a specialist engineering contractor delivering mechanical installation projects across the UK Water & Wastewater sector. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects from design coordination through to installation, commissioning and handover, working on major UK infrastructure projects.
Key Duties
- Managing mechanical projects from award through to completion.
- Coordinating the procurement of mechanical equipment and materials.
- Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Producing RAMS, project programmes and project documentation.
- Coordinating site activities to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Monitoring project costs, variations and commercial performance.
- Attending client and site meetings, providing technical support where required.
- Supporting commissioning, testing and final project handover.
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company procedures and water industry standards.
- Maintaining accurate project records and progress reports.
What we are looking for in the successful candidate:
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience delivering mechanical projects within the UK Water or Wastewater industry.
- Knowledge of mechanical pipework, pumping systems and process equipment.
- Strong understanding of CDM regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially aware with excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS Card, First Aid, NEC contract knowledge or AutoCAD experience would be advantageous.
