Working on behalf of our client, a well-established engineering manufacturer supplying bespoke chemical dosing, water treatment and process equipment to major UK utilities and industrial clients.

Role Overview

As a Process Design Engineer specialising in chemical dosing systems, you will be responsible for the design, development, optimisation and commissioning of chemical dosing systems. You will work closely with design, production and commissioning teams to ensure systems meet customer requirements, regulatory standards and internal quality expectations from concept through to hand-over.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop process design deliverables including process flow diagrams, P&IDs, calculations and technical specifications.
  • Define chemical dosing strategies, equipment sizing, instrumentation requirements and control philosophies.
  • Support the build, FAT and commissioning of dosing systems, both onsite and in the factory.
  • Provide technical advice during installation and commissioning phases, liaising with clients and project teams.
  • Carry out process risk assessments, COSHH assessments and ensure systems comply with relevant safety and environmental legislation.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and contribute to continuous improvement and product development.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.

What we are looking for in the successful candidate:

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience in chemical dosing, water treatment, wastewater treatment or process-equipment engineering.
  • Strong understanding of pumps, dosing equipment, control systems, process instrumentation and fluid/chemical handling.
  • Ability to generate and interpret engineering documentation including P&IDs and process specifications.
  • Hands-on commissioning or troubleshooting experience with process systems.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

What our client can offer in return:

£45k - £60k per annum DOE. Hybrid working may be available following a successful probationary period.
