Working on behalf of our client based in Oswestry, we are hiring for a Quantity Surveyor with experience in civil engineering.
Key Duties
- Manage commercial aspects of civil engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts.
- Cost control and forecasting across multiple sites.
- Identify and manage variations and changes to scope.
- Subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and account management.
- Prepare and present monthly cost/value reports to senior management.
- Maintain compliance with contractual and financial procedures.
- Work collaboratively with operational and client teams.
- Attend site visits ensuring products are arriving on time and being ordered in advance.
What we are looking for
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, ideally with exposure to water and/or highways projects.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage costs, valuations, and subcontractor accounts effectively.
- Experience working on infrastructure projects, including knowledge of NEC contracts (or similar).
- Ability to carry out regular site visits, liaising with site teams and stakeholders to ensure commercial control is maintained.
- Full UK driving licence is essential due to site travel requirements.
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar (preferred but not essential depending on experience).
