On behalf of a client based in the West Midlands, we are currently recruiting for an experienced BMS Project Manager to join a growing and well-established Building Management Systems specialist. The role is primarily office-based from the Birmingham head office, with regular visits to live project sites for meetings, coordination, and progress reviews. The majority of projects are located within the West Midlands, with occasional work outside the region (all travel expenses paid).
Key Duties:
- Manage BMS projects from post-quotation through design, installation, commissioning, and final handover, with values up to £1m.
- Take full ownership of project delivery, ensuring quality, programme, and budget targets are achieved.
- Produce and manage all project documentation, including technical submittals, drawings, descriptions of operation, reports, and O&M manuals.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate project activities to meet agreed milestones.
- Maintain design integrity and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle, particularly during commissioning.
- Control project costs, producing accurate three-month forecasts and financial reports.
- Monitor project performance and report progress to senior management and finance teams.
- Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, main contractors, and third parties.
- Coordinate and support site installation and commissioning teams.
- Lead and support a small team of project engineers, providing mentoring and technical guidance.
What we are looking for in the successful candidate:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in project management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Industry Experience: Proven experience managing BMS and/or HVAC projects from design through to completion.
- BMS Platforms: Experience with one or more BMS systems such as Trend, Delta, Cylon (ABB), Tridium, or Distech is highly advantageous.
- CSCS Skill Card (or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence required.
