Adapro Talent Partners Ltd are delighted to be partnering with a large, multi-site retail organisation based in Bedfordshire to recruit a Corporate Financial Controller, on a permanent basis. The Corporate Financial Controller will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, control and insight across the Group. Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, you will lead a small, capable team and take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, tax, treasury oversight, lender reporting and long-term financial planning. You will work closely with senior leaders, including the Finance Director and CFO, providing robust analysis, strong financial governance and clear insight to support informed decision-making. This is a broad, hands-on role with real influence — ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical excellence with leadership, continuous improvement and strategic thinking.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading the annual budgeting and forecasting process across P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
- Owning the Group's monthly cash forecasting, providing insight and challenge to senior stakeholders
- Overseeing month-end close and Group reporting, ensuring accuracy, quality and timeliness
- Leading the statutory accounts process for multiple UK entities, including audit coordination
- Taking ownership of VAT compliance and supporting wider tax matters with external advisors
- Acting as a key finance contact for lenders, including covenant reporting and financial modelling
- Strengthening balance sheet governance, controls and accounting policies
- Leading technical accounting assessments and supporting complex financial projects
- Managing, coaching and developing a small high-performing finance team
- Driving continuous improvement across finance processes, controls and reporting
The successful candidate will be an ACA or ACCA Qualified Accountant with a strong technical accounting background, solid knowledge of FRS 102 / UK GAAP and proven experience leading statutory accounts and working with external auditors. They are likely to have experience in a complex, multi-entity or multi-site environment, be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a confident leader with excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Our client is offering a salary of £70,000 - £75,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus (up to 20%) + Benefits. This role will be office based 2 days per week, with 3 days working remotely.
