Requirements

  • Experience with BitBake / Yocto / OpenEmbedded
  • Knowledge of Linux kernel hardening internals such as init on alloc, init on free, integrity measurement architecture, integrity policy enforcement, SELinux, or other mandatory access control mechanisms
  • Strong understanding of Unix DAC (Discretionary Access Controls) and their impact on the security model upheld by dbus and other daemons
  • Experience with dm-verity and secure boot implementations
  • Strong ability to rapidly learn and adopt new functionality or code
  • Understanding of SBOMs, their generation, and copyleft license compliance
  • Familiarity with PKCS#11 and its application for secure production builds using offline HSM backed signing keys
  • Security-driven mindset with capability to explain various security architectural concepts
  • Understanding of exploit mitigations (CFI, SCS) and hardware features (BTI, PAC, MTE) in Arm platforms
  • Real-world understanding of offensive exploitation and advising on architectural issues
  • Good understanding of how hardware architectural decisions impact OS security (e.g., TEEs, ARM SMMUv3)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain OS using best practices in security
  • Implement and analyze security policies and architectures to enhance OS integrity
  • Advise on and improve existing architectural frameworks to strengthen security
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate and test new functionality in OS builds
  • Conduct research and implement measures against potential security vulnerabilities
  • Provide support for the adoption of security features in both software and hardware
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on security technologies and standards
