The Nursing Home Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role plays a vital part in infection control and resident comfort by ensuring all areas of the facility meet health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, dining areas, and common spaces
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces (door handles, handrails, light switches, call buttons, etc.)
- Empty trash and dispose of waste according to facility and health regulations
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors
- Refill cleaning and hygiene supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper)
- Follow infection control and cross-contamination prevention procedures
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly
- Report maintenance issues, spills, or safety hazards promptly
- Respect resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times
