The Opportunity: Contentious Trusts and Probate Solicitor. This role will lead the Contentious Trusts and Probate team and offers clear scope for career progression within the Litigation team and the wider firm. The successful candidate will be actively involved in business development and will be expected to develop, manage, and grow client and referrer relationships.
Your Role Will Involve:
- Managing a varied caseload from instruction to resolution.
- Providing expert advice to trustees and executors, private banks, individuals, and charities in relation to a wide range of contentious trust and estate matters.
- Representing clients in negotiations and court proceedings.
- Maintaining effective client communication and managing expectations throughout matters.
- Supporting business development, networking and client relationship management.
- Ensuring compliance with firm procedures, regulatory requirements and risk management processes.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm to identify cross‑referral opportunities.
What We Are Looking For:
- A qualified solicitor with extensive experience in a dedicated Contentious Trusts and Probate role.
- STEP and or ACTAPS qualification, or working towards, would be advantageous.
- A professional, client‑focused approach with a strong commitment to client care.
- Strong time management, organisational and IT skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing deadlines effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal advice clearly and accessibly.
- A collaborative and self‑motivated approach, able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible, resilient, and able to adapt positively to change.
