We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join the team at Adams Morey as aParts Advisor Apprentice, based at ournew site Adanac Park, Southampton.
This apprenticeship provides a unique opportunity to learn about vehicle parts management and customer service within the automotive industry. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, the apprentice will develop the essential skills and knowledge required to excel in the role of a parts advisor. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about automobiles, with a keen interest in parts identification, inventory management, and providing exceptional customer support.
Salary:The National Apprenticeship Wage
Hours:Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.30 pm, i.e. 40 hours per week, 30 minute lunch (unpaid).
Approximately 20% of your total work hours will be dedicated to ‘off-the-job’ training. This is a mixture of online classrooms and face-to-face learning at The Performance Academy in Coventry.
Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn to identify and locate automotive parts using electronic catalogues, manuals, and computer systems.
- Assist customers in-person, over the phone, and via email to fulfil their parts requirements and inquiries.
- Collaborate with service technicians and mechanics to ensure accurate parts ordering and timely delivery.
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming parts shipments, ensuring accuracy and quality control.
- Maintain inventory levels by monitoring stock levels, conducting regular audits, and placing replenishment orders as needed.
- Utilize point-of-sale systems to process transactions, generate invoices, and manage customer accounts.
- Provide product recommendations, technical advice, and pricing information to customers as needed.
- Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally, striving to achieve satisfactory resolutions.
- Uphold company policies and procedures regarding parts sales, returns, and exchanges.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance product knowledge, customer service skills, and industry awareness.
Ideally, we are looking for:
- Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English or equivalent.
- A strong interest in learning about vehicle parts and stock management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to follow instructions and learn from experienced parts advisors.
- Good computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
- Working towards or in possession of a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
