The company
Adamo Foods is a deeptech food company developing an entirely new generation of meat alternatives, using our proprietary fermentation technology (3x patented). With our ultra realistic whole-cut products (starting with a filet alternative) we’ve landed letters of intent to sell products to some of the largest food distributors and restaurants. Over 90% of external tasters to date have said the Adamo Filet is the best product they’ve tried. We’re now scaling up to commercial production and sales. We were recently ranked #20 in the Startups 100 index for the UK’s best new startups.
The role
We are looking for an energetic and motivated Founder’s Associate to join our team to help turn the company’s strategy into execution. This key role will include responsibilities over project management, grant funding, record-keeping and documentation. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated with a strong entrepreneurial drive and a robust commercial acumen.
- Key responsibilities
- Founder Shadowing & Execution: Taking over specialized projects (e.g grant project management, helping prep for key meetings with external stakeholders, etc.)
- Market & Competitor Research: Tracking trends in the food industry and helping write some internal reports.
- Operational Support: Managing the "moving parts"—this could mean coordinating with contractors, suppliers, overseeing a pilot launch, or troubleshooting delivery hurdles.
- Sales & Partnerships: Helping identify potential B2B partners, such as restaurant chains, grocery retailers, etc.
- Content & Community: Assisting with early-stage marketing, social media presence.
- Reporting and documentation: Making sure we are on top of our production facility documentation and helping with documentation.
Requirements
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Not needing to wait for a manual but being able to quickly figure things out, and being comfortable with the fast-pace of an early-stage startup.
- Academic Background and Experience: A degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field is a plus, but we value more previous experience in an execution role.
- High Adaptability: The ability to pivot from analyzing a spreadsheet to talking to a customer without losing momentum.
- Project Management skills and Strong Communication: Exceptional writing and verbal skills for project management or drafting investor updates.
- Analytical Curiosity: Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and the ability to turn raw data into actionable insights.
- Passion for Sustainability or Foodtech: A genuine interest in how technology is changing the way we produce, distribute, or consume food.
- The right to work in the UK, unfortunately we’re not able to sponsor visas for this role.
Benefit
- Flexible working
- Team socials and away days and regular product tastings
- Chance to create and set up many of the company’s processes & goals
