Our client, a long-established and highly regarded independent garage based in Hindhead is looking to recruit an experienced Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join their team.

An MOT Tester licence would be a distinct advantage, but it is not essential.

If you're an experienced Vehicle Technician who doesn't currently hold an MOT licence, we'd still love to hear from you.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a recently refurbished workshop equipped with the latest diagnostic equipment, where you'll become part of a close-knit team that genuinely supports one another.

The business has successfully grown from its roots as a classic vehicle specialist into a thriving modern repair centre, while still occasionally working on classic vehicles.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Complete clutches, cambelts, brakes, suspension and general mechanical repairs.
  • Carry out vehicle health checks and identify additional work where required.
  • Perform MOT tests if qualified (this is not essential for the role).
  • Ensure all work is completed efficiently while maintaining the highest standards.
  • Work closely with colleagues to deliver excellent customer service and workshop productivity.
  • Your Background & Skills
  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician is essential.
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
  • MOT Tester licence is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience gained within either an independent garage or main dealership will be considered.
  • Level 3 qualification is advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to work well as part of a team.
