Our client, a prestigious main dealership based in Cambridge, is looking to recruit an experienced

Service Manager to lead their successful Aftersales department.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished

Service Manager who has experience managing a busy, high-volume dealership and is looking to join a well-established business with a strong reputation, excellent facilities and a committed team already in place.

The department is performing well commercially and has enjoyed consistent year‑on‑year growth.

The focus for the successful candidate will be to further improve workshop efficiency, maximise throughput, reduce repeat repairs, develop the management team and continue building a positive, high‑performing culture.

This role would suit an experienced Service Manager who enjoys coaching people, driving performance and creating an environment where technicians and frontline staff can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day‑to‑day operation of a busy Aftersales department.
  • Drive workshop productivity, efficiency and profitability.
  • Work closely with Workshop Controllers to improve job allocation, workshop flow and technician utilisation.
  • Reduce repeat repairs and improve workshop quality standards.
  • Develop, mentor and support the management team and wider Aftersales department.
  • Motivate and retain technicians while creating a positive working culture.
  • Ensure exceptional levels of customer satisfaction and resolve escalated customer concerns professionally.
  • Monitor departmental KPIs and implement strategies to continually improve performance.
  • Work collaboratively with senior management to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards, health & safety requirements and company procedures.

About You

To be considered, you will ideally have

  • Proven experience as a

Service Manager within a busy main dealership.

  • A strong track record of leading successful Aftersales departments.
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills.
  • Experience improving workshop efficiency, productivity and technician performance.
  • The ability to coach, develop and motivate large teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to drive departmental profitability.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

This is not a role suited to someone looking for their first Service Manager position.

Our client is seeking an experienced leader who can make an immediate impact within an established operation.
