We are seeking a Civil Litigation Solicitor to join our London office on a full-time, office-based basis. This role has a strong focus on Housing and Landlord & Tenant matters, alongside broader civil litigation work. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload, advising clients on contentious matters from inception through to resolution. Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents
- Conducting negotiations
- Managing court proceedings
- Representing clients where required
You will work closely with clients to provide clear, practical, and commercially sound advice, while maintaining the firm’s high standards of service. The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and development of the firm’s civil litigation and housing practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of civil litigation matters, with a particular focus on housing and landlord & tenant disputes
- Advising landlords and tenants on possession claims, disrepair, tenancy disputes, and related housing issues
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, correspondence, and court documents
- Conducting negotiations and representing clients in hearings where appropriate
- Ensuring compliance with procedural rules and court deadlines
- Maintaining accurate case files and delivering high standards of client care
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with a valid practising certificate
- Strong experience in Civil Litigation, particularly Housing and Landlord & Tenant law
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload with strong organisational and analytical skills
- Proven experience within a reputable law firm and a track record of successful case outcomes
- A proactive, professional, and client-focused approach
