Job Summary: An Immigration Solicitor will be responsible for handling a broad spectrum of immigration matters, including individual and corporate applications for visas, appeals, and complex immigration matters. This role requires in-depth knowledge of UK immigration laws, strong attention to detail, and excellent client management skills. The ideal candidate should be capable of managing cases independently as well as collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a full range of immigration case files from initial consultation through to conclusion, ensuring timely and accurate submission of applications.
- Prepare and file all types of immigration applications, including but not limited to:
- Visa Applications: Work, student, spouse, and visitor visas.
- Settlement Applications: Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), settlement for family members.
- Citizenship and Nationality Applications: Naturalisation, registration of children.
- Sponsor Licence Applications: Applications for organisations seeking to sponsor skilled workers.
- Asylum and Humanitarian Protection: Draft statements and prepare asylum claims, appeals, and judicial reviews.
- Appeals and Complex Cases: Represent clients in tribunal hearings, judicial reviews, and appeal proceedings.
- EU Settlement Scheme Applications and related applications following Brexit.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Qualified Solicitor with 1-3 years of PQE in immigration law.
- Extensive knowledge of UK immigration laws, policies, and procedures.
- Proven experience in case management, including high-volume caseloads.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on client care.
- Proficiency in immigration case management software and legal document management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage deadlines and multitask effectively.
