Edinburgh, hybrid, 3 days a week in the office. We are supporting a growing, highly regarded independent UK private bank with a distinctive relationship-led model, focused on lasting, highly personalized relationships with high-net-worth individuals, families and their businesses. Compliance plays a critical role in balancing commercial flexibility with robust governance and regulatory oversight. This is a six-month fixed-term opportunity to step into a well-established function, providing leadership through a period of continued growth, leadership evolution and increasing regulatory expectation. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will lead a small second line Compliance team, taking ownership of the Bank’s compliance framework while acting as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining strategic oversight with operational delivery.
Responsibilities
- Leading and developing the Compliance function, ensuring it operates effectively as an independent second line
- Maintaining and enhancing the Bank’s compliance framework, policies and procedures
- Providing pragmatic, commercially aware advice and constructive challenge to the business
- Overseeing compliance monitoring, testing and regulatory reporting
- Supporting senior leadership and Risk Committees with clear, insightful MI and recommendations
- Acting as a key point of contact for regulators and external stakeholders
You will be an experienced senior compliance leader with a strong background in compliance within a relationship-led environment. Private banking experience would be beneficial.
