We are looking for a supportive and dynamic Technical Skills Coach to join Ada, the National College for Digital Skills. This is a unique opportunity to shape one of the UK’s most powerful social mobility programmes by connecting diverse young people with careers in tech. This is a full or part-time role based in Manchester (Ancoats), paying £33,000 – £35,000 pro rata. You will report to the Lead Skills Coach, and applications close on 4th September 2026. Please note that we cannot offer visa sponsorship for this role, and a DBS check is required upon appointment.

Location: Ancoats, Manchester

Your Mission & Responsibilities

Your mission is to support a caseload of apprentices while ensuring their employers are up‑to‑date with their progress. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing regular check‑ins and progress reviews with a caseload of Apprentices and their Employers.
  • Facilitating engaging skills workshops for co‑curriculum content.
  • Helping Apprentices meet the requirements of their work‑based portfolios and find developmental opportunities in the workplace.
  • Removing barriers to progress and helping Apprentices convert to successful tech careers.

About You

We need someone who loves supporting people to reach their full potential and wants to represent Ada with enthusiasm and professionalism. You should ideally have:

  • Professional experience in software development, data analytics, or a technical Degree/Higher Apprenticeship.
  • Experience coaching learners, tracking the EPA (End Point Assessment) process, and maintaining compliance with funding rules.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and organisational skills, backed by a solution‑focused mindset.
