Science Technician Location : Portsmouth Job type: Permanent, Part Time, Term Time Salary: £7,320 – £7,513 pro-rata (FTE £22,875 – £23,479) depending upon qualifications, skills and experience The Grammar School is a leading co-educational school located in the heart of historic Portsmouth. The Role They are recruiting for a suitably qualified and experienced science technician to join the school as soon as possible. Working in their science departments, which are located in a state of the art Science Centre, technicians are assigned to support practical work across Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Training is provided to enable technicians to work flexibly across all three sciences as needed. There will be opportunities for the successful candidate to further develop areas of particular interest or specialism according to qualifications and previous experience. This is a part time, term time only position, to include attendance at all Professional Development Days (INSET) in the school calendar. During published PGS school terms, the hours of work will be 15 hours per week working 08.30 16.30 on Monday and Tuesday with a 30 minute unpaid lunchbreak each day. There is an option for this role to be extended to 22.5 hours per week to include Wednesday to suit the successful candidate.
