The Role
With the support of the Corporate Finance Business Partner Analyst, the Finance Business Partner provides financial support across multiple key parts of the CIPS Business (1 Revenue stream, totalling approx. Β£13m or 32% of CIPS total revenue and Β£9m or 22% of CIPS total costs), across various regions and departments.
The Finance Business Partner is responsible for guiding key Stakeholders in making sound business decisions in the long and short term, and responsible for business planning, forecasting and analysis and reporting, in line with local legal and group requirements to achieve short and long term business objectives for the areas supported.
Key Responsibilities
- Production of accurate monthly P&Ls for areas supported, in line with the Month end timetable.
- Communication of key drivers of results, variances and risks/opportunities to key Stakeholders and for Month End reporting.
- Monthly reconciliation of Balance sheet accounts and timely follow up of reconciling items.
- Global Process owner for the Revenue streams supported, to work with Regional Finance Managers to ensure consistent, adequate processes and controls are in place globally.
- Responsible for the co-ordination and consolidation of the CIPS global monthly financial results across CIPs.
- Maintenance of Group Reporting from Sage, to support month end process/reporting, including co-ordination of changes required for new regions.
- Co-ordination and production of annual budgets and quarterly re-forecasts with key stakeholders for areas supported.
- Collaboration with wider Finance Team to prepare schedules, reports and draft accounts information for the UK annual financial statements and audit thereof.
- Finance representation on key CIPS projects and new proposals, ensuring strong financial management.
- Provide business and financial support to business areas as required.
- Updating the wider Finance Team on latest regulatory requirements and the ensuing impact on CIPS Group.
- Assess finance training needs both within finance and among the wider business, help development and deliver training material to address any gaps.
- Review and seek to improve finance systems, procedures and reporting to make management information production more efficient and accurate.
- Support any system developments, testing, and roll out.
- Effectively manage and develop Direct Report(s).
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong general educational qualifications. First Degree level or equivalent.
- Qualified Accountant.
- Demonstrable experience in the production of management and financial accounts.
- Demonstrable experience of managing small teams.
- High level of commercial awareness, and strong problem solving skills.
- Highly IT literate, with knowledge of Accounting Software (preferably SAGE). Advance Excel skills.
- Confident and clear verbal communicator, able to present to small groups.
- Business planning and organization skills.
- Demonstrable experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
