Wymondham College requires a strong administrator who has pastoral and safeguarding experience working with children and/or young adults to become our Safeguarding Co-Ordinator, to support the Assistant Principal and other pastoral/safeguarding staff to deliver a highly effective safeguarding service within the College.

The personal competencies expected of all College support staff are:
- The ability to communicate clearly and tactfully using appropriate methods and an awareness of the impact of your own communication on others
- Able to maintain positive relationships with all and able to work as an effective and flexible part of a team; willing to change methods of work and routines to benefit the team
- Willingness to accept responsibility for your own actions; the ability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines and accept challenges
The professional competencies expected of a Safeguarding Coordinator are:
- Excellent administrative skills
- A sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and a willingness to increase this knowledge
- Proven experience and success working with children and/or young adults in a pastoral setting, particularly experience working with vulnerable young people
- Patience, tolerance and sensitivity along with a mature and non-judgemental outlook
- The ability to work with initiative and meet deadlines; the ability to prioritise and assess emerging issues
- A willingness to work flexibly
The qualifications and previous experience required for a Safeguarding Coordinator are:
- Experience and/or training in counselling or listening skills
- Previous experience of working within a safeguarding team
- A trained Designated Safeguarding Lead (training can be provided if not)
- Previous experience working with statutory bodies on welfare issues
