Location: Wymondham College, Wymondham

Salary: FTE £24,796 per annum Pro rata £26,697 - £27,147 per annum, including an allowance for holiday pay

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Term-time plus 5 Weeks (37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday, plus 3.5 hours on 17 Saturdays a year)

Wymondham College is a member of the Sapientia Education Trust (SET). SET is an expanding multi-academy trust with 14 primary and 9 secondary schools.

We are looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic person with high standards and the ability to communicate and interact effectively with others as part of our school as a Cleaner.

Responsibilities include:

• Cleaning classrooms, including tables, chairs, walls, doors, windowsills, windows, corridors, doors, kitchen areas, and toilets in all school areas.
• Deep cleaning all areas of the school during school holidays.

The first three months of employment shall be a probationary period and employment may be terminated by the Trust during this period at any time on one week's prior written notice. The Trust may, at its absolute discretion, extend this period for one month. During this probationary period, performance and suitability for continued employment will be monitored.

Qualifications and experience required:

• Previous cleaning experience is preferred, but we do offer on-site training for the right person.

General Responsibilities:

The Cleaner is responsible for ensuring all school areas and spaces are properly cleaned and maintained throughout the College.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Clean classrooms in allocated area, including floors, walls, doors, tables and chairs.
• Clean corridors.
• Clean toilets.
• Ensure all areas (communal areas, dormitories, stairwells and corridors) are cleaned within the allocated times to a high standard.
• Vacuuming, damp mopping, scrubbing and buffing (including carpet shampooing/deep cleaning during College holidays).
• Cleaning/dusting all furniture, fixtures and fittings.
• Cleaning all sanitary fittings.
• Assist lettings in the preparation of the boarding houses during non-term time for conferences and events.
• Emptying bins and removing rubbish; taking to allocated point.
• Check that your area is safe before leaving.
• Adhere to all cleaning schedules and encourage others to do the same.
• Ensure cleaning cupboards are kept tidy.
• Maintaining cleanliness of cloths and mops.
• Reporting any problems/damages via CISS.
• Promoting Health & Safety within your area.
• Undertake any other reasonable duty as may be delegated.

They must ensure confidential or sensitive material is handled appropriately and accurately. The post holder shall participate in the Trust's programme of Performance Management and Continuing Professional Development.
