Swim Helper

Location: Cambridge

Salary: £16.04 per hour, inclusive of paid holiday entitlement (based on the statutory annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks per year inclusive of public holidays).

The Role

To assist the Swim Teacher in delivering high quality swimming lessons by supporting learners in the water, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment for all learners.

Working Hours

Monday and Friday 15:30 – 18:30

Wednesday 16:00 – 18:30

Saturday and Sunday 09:00 – 12:00

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide safe and effective assistance to swimming lessons in line with guidance from a Swimming Teacher
  • To carry out instructions given from the Swimming Teachers safely and accurately
  • To maintain the high standards held within the swim school at all times
  • To provide a welcoming and pleasant class atmosphere to all pupils in lessons
  • To interact with all children in your class in a friendly and positive manner
  • Support Swim Teachers by organising the learners, relaying instructions clearly and ensuring they remain focused
  • Assist learners in the water helping them with confidence building, floating and basic swimming techniques
  • Set up and tidy away equipment before and after lessons
  • Be aware of and follow safety protocols and emergency procedures
  • To be aware of and follow all child protection and safeguarding policies
  • To wear uniform provided and be well presented at all times
