  • About WHW

WHW is a family-owned, award-winning dental manufacturer and supplier, providing over 25,000 product lines to customers across the UK.

We pride ourselves on strong customer relationships, excellent service and a commitment to continuous improvement.

As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on Depot Supervisor to take ownership of our Smethwick facility and help keep everything running smoothly.

The Role

This is a varied, practical role for someone who enjoys taking responsibility, working with people and getting stuck in.

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the depot, managing stock, supporting the team, coordinating local deliveries and ensuring the facility is maintained to a high standard.

We're looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on, leading by example and getting involved in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the depot.

Alongside these responsibilities, you'll initially be carrying out local deliveries on a frequent basis, with this becoming less regular as the operation develops.

You'll always be happy to help wherever needed, whether that's labelling products, organising stock, keeping the facility tidy or providing van cover when required.

You’ll also be a friendly, professional point of contact for local customers, helping to maintain the excellent service WHW is known for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out regular local customer deliveries, particularly during the initial stages of the role, providing a friendly and professional service.
  • Take ownership of the day-to-day running, organisation and upkeep of the depot.
  • Manage stock accurately, including checking, rotation, organisation and product labelling.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety and general presentation across the facility.
  • Supervise and support depot staff, leading by example and helping with practical tasks when needed.
  • Organise local delivery runs and provide van cover as required.
  • Assist customers with enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
  • Use our business software to support stock management and customer transactions.
  • Keep company directors informed of operational matters and suggest improvements where appropriate.

About You

We're looking for a personable, proactive individual who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a team.

You'll be comfortable leading others but equally happy rolling up your sleeves and tackling whatever needs doing.

Essential skills and experience

  • Previous warehouse or depot experience.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Full, valid driving licence and willingness to undertake frequent delivery driving initially, with occasional van cover thereafter.
  • A valid forklift truck licence and practical experience operating a forklift.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused approach.
  • A practical, can-do attitude, with the initiative to identify what needs doing and get on with it.

Desirable, but not essential

  • Customer service experience.

Experience within the dental industry isn't necessary, as full training on our products and systems will be provided.

What We Offer

  • Full training and ongoing support.
  • Opportunities for development and career progression.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Corporate clothing.
  • Free on-site parking.
  • The opportunity to take real ownership of your depot within an established, family-owned business.

Why Join WHW?

At WHW, we're proud to be a family-owned business where people make a real difference.

We value teamwork, initiative and a willingness to go the extra mile, and believe in giving our employees the opportunity to develop and grow alongside the business.

You’ll be joining an established, award-winning company with a friendly and supportive team, where your contribution is recognised and you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your role and make a genuine impact.

We're looking for someone who wants to be part of our continued success, not just turn up and do a job.
