The Role

We are looking to recruit a Duty Officer to join the DVC Sports Centre team in providing a customer focused service to all of our learners, employees and members. You will be responsible for the operational day‑to‑day activities of the Sports Centre while on duty, including customer service, health & safety and management of bookings. As part of the Sports facility’s operational management team you will carry out day‑to‑day management of the facility, providing leadership and support to all staff and, as part of the operational rota, cover for planned and unplanned absences of staff as well as class cover where needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of a Level 3 Sports or Leisure related qualification
  • A Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification
  • A Full First Aid at Work qualification (First Aid will need to be obtained whilst in post if not already held)
  • Experience of supervisory responsibilities and significant knowledge of health and safety guidelines in a sports and leisure centre environment
  • Ability to work flexibly, as the role involves working mostly evenings and weekends on a rota basis, taking responsibility for opening and securing the premises
