Originally established in 1976, the Road Safety Markings Association (RSMA) is a specialist trade body that has played a pivotal role in the development of the road marking industry. Based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, we have a membership that spans the UK and Europe. We have earned a strong reputation for training, standards, and safe systems of work. ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a gregarious, patient, and flexible individual who is willing to learn under our mentorship and achieve the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience, and where required qualifications, to deliver road safety marking related training and assessment to a high standard as expected by the RSMA and its UK wide membership.
THE JOB ROLE
This position is primarily office-based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, with the option for hybrid working following successful completion of probation. It will also involve travelling throughout the UK at various times of the year to deliver training, assessments, and representing the RSMA.
Deliver, innovate, and promote training and assessment in subjects that include:
- Road Safety Marking Specialist Applied-skills Programme (SAP).
- Highway construction NVQ's.
- General highway construction.
We will provide training and mentorship to enable you to pass on your knowledge and skills, existing and new, helping to ensure a qualified and sustainable workforce for the road safety marking industry. You will be able to work in-line with awarding body requirements and schedules for completion, including on-site training and assessments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Instruct and assess SAP Trainees at our Gainsborough training centre.
- Deliver training and assessments to support a fully competent and skilled sector workforce.
- Assess NVQ Candidates in accordance with prevailing qualification standards.
- Conduct training, reviews, and assessment visits with Trainees.
- Ensure the required documents and tools are used to record Trainee progress.
- Maintain trainee files and learning plans to a high standard and update them regularly.
- Liaise with our Training Co-ordinator to manage activities, site visits and travel schedules.
- Deliver other training courses as required, at the RSMA or clients' site.
- Develop own portfolio of accreditations, with RSMA support, to ensure quality of delivery.
- Support the overall aim of the organisation, taking on role relevant activities when required.
- Work with RSMA colleagues to support RSMA member organisations.
ESSENTIAL
- UK driving licence category B, or higher.
- Be able to drive yourself to member sites, delivering training and assessments.
- Willing to continuously develop as a professional working for a Trade Association.
- Comfortable presenter with an ability to engage learners of varying requirements.
- Excellent ICT skills and experience, including MS-365.
DESIRABLE
- Qualified as an Instructor (AET or equivalent) and Assessor (CAVA Level 3 or equivalent).
- An understanding of qualification frameworks.
- Hold construction highway construction related training accreditations.
- Practical experience in setting out and applying road markings.
- Knowledge of the key standards that drive the road marking sector.
