Housekeeper
Location: Bognor Regis
Hours: Part Time, 25 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with one weekend shift every four weeks
Salary: £12.60 per hour on weekdays, £13.60 on weekends, and £14.60 for overtime
The Role
Our client, a well-regarded residential care home in Felpham, is seeking a dedicated and conscientious Housekeeper to join their team.
The successful candidate will maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and comfort throughout the home, ensuring residents live in a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
Please note: Due to substances used under COSHH regulations, applicants must be aged 21 or over.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and laundry facilities.
- Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment, observing COSHH guidelines.
- Uphold infection prevention standards, including fogging when necessary.
- Manage laundry duties: washing, drying, ironing, and distribution.
- Respond courteously to residents\’ requests and support a respectful environment.
- Report maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and managers.
- Manage stock control of cleaning supplies and maintain equipment.
- Follow emergency procedures, including fire safety protocols.
- Adhere to safeguarding procedures and confidentiality requirements.
- Complete mandatory and additional training as required.
- Work independently and proactively, contributing to the home\’s wellbeing.
What They\’re Looking For
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience, preferably in care or healthcare.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Respectful, empathetic, and professional approach towards residents.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and using cleaning equipment.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
