Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum

The role of Financial Controller:

1. Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets, as well as reporting of the same.
2. Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organisation.
3. Responsible for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting.
4. Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organisation that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflows.
5. Comply with national financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation and taking appropriate action to ensure compliance.
6. Develop budget proposals, provide access to project finance information, and ensure contract/grant compliance and reporting.
7. Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyse internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement including development of AI policy within the business.
8. Perform risk management through analysis and recommend actions to reduce adverse risks within the business.
9. Monitor business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for earnings to present to the management team and Board.
10. Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities including UK GAAP, HMRC, Data Protection.

The ideal candidate for the role of Financial Controller:

1. ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (a finalist will also be considered).
2. Proven experience in a senior accounting role.
3. Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
4. Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning.
