Location: Wotton-under-Edge Town Council, The Civic Centre, 2 Gloucester Street, Wotton-under-Edge, GL12 7DN

Salary: £32,578 - £35,570 per annum pro rata (SCP 18-23)

Contract: Permanent, Part-Time. 25 hours per week with some weekends and evenings for meetings and other events.

Wotton-under-Edge Town Council is strengthening its operational capacity as part of a wider organisational expansion. With new roles being introduced and services evolving, we are seeking a Deputy Estates Manager who can help ensure the Council's buildings, green spaces and community facilities remain safe, welcoming and well managed. This is an opportunity to join the team at a moment of positive change. As the Council grows, we are investing in modernising systems, improving assets and enhancing the resilience of our facilities function.

Working alongside the Estates Manager (and deputising when required), you will support the day-to-day running of the estate, coordinate maintenance activity, supervise staff and help deliver bookings and events.

About you

  • Experience in facilities/estate management, building maintenance or asset management, with a strong understanding of planned and preventative maintenance.
  • Experience supervising staff, overseeing repairs, managing suppliers or supporting community facilities.
  • A practical, hands-on approach and confidence working in public-facing environments.

Your work will directly support the town's community identity, from preparing venues for local groups to ensuring public spaces are cared for with pride. As the organisation expands, you will play a key role in helping the facilities team operate confidently, safely and efficiently. Experience of planned and preventative maintenance is essential, and familiarity with listed buildings or heritage assets would be an advantage. If you are practical, organised and confident leading others, this role offers the chance to help maintain and improve the places that matter most to residents and to be part of a growing team shaping Wotton's next phase of development.
