Health and Safety Advisor – Location: Birmingham – Salary: Open to negotiation – Working Hours: 07:30 - 12:30, 13:00 - 16:00hrs (Monday to Thursday) 07:30 - 12:00hrs (Friday). Part-time working also available.
McGeoch Technology Ltd is a well-established and expanding manufacturing company based in Birmingham.
Responsibilities
- Working within the Quality department, reporting to the Quality Manager, the H&S Advisor is responsible for McGeoch Technology Ltd Statutory and Regulatory Compliance.
- Monitor compliance and challenge the status quo where outputs do not achieve the input requirements.
- Create positive change and ensure customer and business goals, objectives and targets are achieved.
- Ensure Health & Safety System and functional statutory and regulatory compliance; enable performance improvement.
Skills & Competency Requirements
- Person: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport from the very first meeting. Strong listening skills and attentiveness are essential.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Conflict Resolution and Problem Solving: Ability to identify problems and solve them before they affect organisational productivity.
- Core Capabilities: Time-management, leadership, conflict resolution, integrity, and honesty in the best interests of the business.
- Experience: Significant experience post qualification of HSE working within a high integrity Design, Machining, Fabrication, Welding, Paint, Electrical, Mechanical, Assembly & Test facility.
- Other: BPSS & NNPPI cleared.
- Qualifications: NEBOSH Certified Practitioner. ISO 14001 Certified Auditor.
