About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Orthodontic Therapist to join our friendly and professional dental team. The successful candidate will work under the prescription of a Specialist Orthodontist to provide high-quality orthodontic care and support to patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out orthodontic treatments under the prescription of an orthodontist or dentist.
- Place and adjust orthodontic archwires, brackets, and other appliances.
- Take dental impressions, intraoral scans, and clinical photographs.
- Fit orthodontic bands and attachments as prescribed.
- Remove orthodontic appliances and prepare teeth surfaces after treatment.
- Provide oral hygiene advice and instructions on maintaining orthodontic appliances.
- Monitor treatment progress and report concerns to the supervising orthodontist.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and patient documentation.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, health and safety, and clinical governance standards.
Essential Requirements
- Qualification in Orthodontic Therapy recognised by the General Dental Council.
- Current GDC registration as an Orthodontic Therapist (or eligibility to register).
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a dental team.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience working in an orthodontic practice.
- Knowledge of digital orthodontic systems and intraoral scanners.
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
