About the Role

We are seeking qualified School Bank Nurses to join our team on a flexible, ad hoc basis, providing cover for our full-time nursing staff. You will deliver a high-quality healthcare service, offering first aid, medical support, and promoting both physical and mental wellbeing across the school. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse to contribute to a holistic approach to pupil care, including illness and injury assessment, treatment, and emotional wellbeing support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in line with the NMC Code.
  • Provide first aid and emergency care to pupils, staff, and visitors, including pitch-side support where required.
  • Assess and triage pupils, prioritising care effectively.
  • Support pupils with acute and chronic health needs.
  • Offer confidential health advice and signpost to appropriate services.
  • Liaise with staff, parents, and external healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate medical records in line with GDPR.
  • Ensure safe handling, storage, and administration of medicines.
  • Maintain Health Centre supplies and emergency equipment.
  • Follow infection control procedures and promote health education.

Person Specification

  • Qualified nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Strong clinical skills, ideally with school or community experience.
  • Organised, calm, and able to work under pressure.
  • Friendly, approachable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
