Job Description Laboratory Technician - Senior School We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join a Senior School from September 2026. This is a full-time, term-time role (approximately 36 weeks per year), working 8:00am–4:30pm, 5 days per week. You will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of a busy Science Department by preparing materials and apparatus for lessons, maintaining equipment, and ensuring Health & Safety standards are met. Prepare and set up apparatus, materials, and chemical solutions for lessons Maintain laboratories, equipment, chemicals, and stock levels Ensure safe storage of chemicals and equipment Maintain Health & Safety documentation, risk assessments, and CLEAPSS compliance Keep laboratories clean, tidy, and well organised Support science clubs, open days, and enrichment activities Dispose of waste materials safely Science background with experience handling chemicals and lab equipment Good knowledge of laboratory Health & Safety requirements Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Flexible, reliable, and able to work as part of a team Previous school lab experience or relevant science qualifications A varied, hands-on role in a well-resourced Science Department Opportunities for training and professional development Term-time working with structured hours Flexible working options including job share Competitive salary based on experience The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
