We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join a Senior School from September 2026. This is a full-time, term-time role (approximately 36 weeks per year), working 8:00am–4:30pm, 5 days per week. You will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of a busy Science Department by preparing materials and apparatus for lessons, maintaining equipment, and ensuring Health & Safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up apparatus, materials, and chemical solutions for lessons
- Assist teachers with practical experiments and demonstrations
- Maintain laboratories, equipment, chemicals, and stock levels
- Undertake stock checks, place orders, and manage deliveries
- Carry out minor repairs or arrange external servicing
- Ensure safe storage of chemicals and equipment
- Maintain Health & Safety documentation, risk assessments, and CLEAPSS compliance
- Keep laboratories clean, tidy, and well organised
- Support science clubs, open days, and enrichment activities
- Dispose of waste materials safely
