Location: Birmingham / Wolverhampton / Midlands

Salary: £18 to £20 per hour, equivalent to £37,440 to £41,600 basic salary

Overtime: Time and a half after 40 hours, double time on Sundays and bank holidays

Package: Door-to-door pay, company van, fuel card, tools, uniform, pension and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

HTL Windows & Doors is looking for a skilled engineer to join its automatic door team, covering customer sites across the Midlands. This is a hands-on service, maintenance and repair role where you’ll be trusted to manage your work professionally, solve faults properly and deliver a reliable service to customers.

About HTL Windows & Doors

HTL Windows & Doors is an established automatic door specialist, supporting customers with maintenance, repairs and compliance. Since 2002, the business has completed more than 30,000 maintenance services and 5,000 repairs, helping customers keep their sites safe, operational and compliant. Due to continued demand, HTL is now looking for an experienced Automatic Door Engineer to join the team.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing automatic doors across customer sites. The role will include planned maintenance, reactive callouts, fault diagnosis and repair work. You’ll work closely with customers and the office team to make sure jobs are completed safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption.

Day to day, you’ll be:

  • Visiting customer sites across the Midlands
  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing automatic doors
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults
  • Responding to reactive callouts and scheduled works
  • Completing electronic paperwork, portals and permits where needed
  • Liaising with the office team to keep jobs moving smoothly
  • Communicating clearly and professionally with customers
  • Working in line with EN16005 regulations and Health & Safety procedures

What we’re looking for

This role would suit an experienced Automatic Door Engineer, Automatic Door Technician or Field Service Engineer with hands-on experience in automatic doors. You’ll need:

  • Experience maintaining and repairing automatic doors
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • A reliable, professional and safety-focused approach
  • Knowledge of EN16005 requirements
  • ADIA / ADSA BS7036 / EN16005 accreditation would be highly desirable
  • Installation experience would be useful, but is not essential

Please note

You’ll ideally be based in or around Birmingham, Wolverhampton or the wider Midlands area, as this role will involve regular travel to customer sites.
